Festival or Roses: The best of Plovdiv - Kazanlak - Stara Zagora

In 2019 the festival dates are in Karlovo 15 - 18.05.19 and in Kazanluk - 31.05 – 02.06.19.
Festival program starts from 09:00 am (on the rose fields) and proceeds whole day with folklore programs, dances, singers and Rose rituals. In city of Karlovo and Kazanlak, you can get acquitant with the rose oil industry:
Testing Essential Oils
Tasting liquer/Jam/Brandy from Roses
Treat with Gosleme
Acting out a Traditional Rose Ritual
Both cities are just 1,5 to 2,5 hours by car away from Sofiaor less then 1 hour from Plovdiv.

Your special tour may start from Sofia with 1 day visiting Plovdiv, which is an amazing ancient city with achitecture dating back to Rome's Empire, having an old town in typical Bulgarian Renesance houses and squares and modern graffiti art, bar streets and nightlife.

Next day we can visit Stara Zagora, enjoying a Proto bulgarians show, make a great wine tasting tour and arrive at Kazanlyk by afternoon.
Whole next day could be devoted to Rose Festival and Bulgarian culture and tradition, or we can make a short 1 day tour only for the Rose Festival visit, if you are out of time.
